The Los Angeles Lakers rookie duo of Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma showed quite the chemistry both on and off the court. The two played off each other extremely well and also constantly one another a hard time on social media.

Both players will be crucial to the growth of this young Lakers team. While no one knows whether the Lakers will bring in any big-name free agents, Kuzma understands that both he and Lonzo have a big summer ahead of themselves.

Kuzma had the better rookie season of the two, but he knows that Ball is a major factor for the future of the Lakers, which will lead to a change for the point guard. “I think he’s going to attack his mentality,” Kuzma said.

“That’s one thing he needs to do for us to be great. No matter who comes here, everything is going to fall on his head. Whether a superstar comes or not. That’s the reality we live in. For him and us, we all know he has to bring it next year. And he will for sure.”

He and Lonzo appear to be on the same page as the second overall pick said something similar when speaking to the media himself. Ball being more of a threat offensively will allow his playmaking to shine even brighter.

In order for that to happen, Ball will need to work not only on his jump shot, but also finishing at the rim, as well as developing his midrange game and floater. And with that, becoming stronger, which Brandon Ingram suggested Ball focus on.

One thing that has been apparent for each of the Lakers’ young players is that all of them are extremely hard workers and will put in the necessary time to get better. Kuzma and Ball will be pushing each other this offseason and the Lakers will ultimately be the beneficiaries.
