The frustration hit an all-time high for Los Angeles Lakers fans after the loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night in Salt Lake City. As if a four loss in five games wasn’t a tough pill to swallow, one Lakers fan in Utah was sent over the edge after trashing talking got physical outside of Energy Solutions Arena.

Reportedly, a group of Jazz fans were heckling these Lakers fans until it came down to a potential brawl outside the arena. After the Jazz fans backed down from the fight, one of the Lakers fans opened fire with a can of pepper spray according to Janelle Stecklin of The Salt Lake City Tribune:

“An angry Los Angeles Lakers’ fan on Thursday night opened fire on a Jazz fan with a can of pepper spray outside Energy Solutions Arena.”

The police failed to apprehend the assailant who has the following description via Stecklin:

“Police said they were searching for a Latino in his early 30s who was wearing a Lakers jersey.

“He’s about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. The man has medium length brown hair and was in a Dodge Charger”

With a 1-4 record to start the 2012-13 season, the Lakers haven’t come anywhere close to living up to the extremely high expectations after acquiring Dwight Howard and Steve Nash in the off-season.

Although it is still very early in the year, the pressure is beginning to mount in Los Angeles with head coach Mike Brown potentially on the hot seat moving forward. The Lakers’ front office denies reports of Brown’s job status being in jeopardy due to the poor start, but if the team continues to struggle it may be only a matter of time before he’s given his walking papers.
