Back in January, Lakers forward Jordan Hill underwent season-ending surgery on a torn labrum and on Thursday received news he’s close to getting back on the court.

Hill saw the doctor who performed surgery on him Thursday and the plan is for Hill to begin running on the treadmill. Lakers sideline reporter Mike Trudell had the update on Hill:

After Hill passes those tests he should be cleared to resume basketball activities and could be back on the court in three-to-four weeks from that date.

Granted, the Lakers would need to make a deep run in the playoffs for Hill to see the floor, but it’s good news regardless. The loss of Hill early in the season showed the lack of front-court depth the Lakers have as players like Earl Clark have been playing out of position.

Before his injury, Hill averaged 6.7 points and 5.7 rebounds but his energy and activity on the glass is what the Lakers miss the most.

Hill has rehabbed the injury aggressively the past three months and it’s good to hear that his hard work has paid off.
