Earlier this month, the Lakers made 18 threes in a game against the Cavaliers which tied a franchise record for most threes in a regulation game. The Lakers previously had 19 made threes in an overtime game, and tonight’s performance tied that mark.

The Laker offense found their groove throughout the game and constantly found open men around the perimeter. Laker coach Mike D’Antoni kept a small lineup on the court for the second half which spread the Kings defense. The hot shooting energized the Staples Center crowd, and the Lakers seemed to be riding off the fan’s energy. The onslaught from deep allowed the Lakers to come back in the game after being down by double digits in the game.

Jordan Farmar led the way, setting a career high with 30 points and shot 8 for 10 on three point shots. Farmar appears to be over his hamstring injury and definitely provided the spark for the Lakers to win Friday night. With Mike D’Antoni insisting the Lakers play better when smaller lineups are on the floor, the Lakers hot shooting can continue on to their next games.

Performances like the one Friday night help the morale during this tough season. The Lakers are currently the eighth best three point shooting team with a 37.6 percentage.
