Lakers News: Larry Nance Jr. Suffers Knee Contusion In Loss To Raptors

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a blowout loss to the Toronto Raptors on Friday night with DeMar DeRozan and company proving to be too much to handle. Along with falling to the Raptors in convincing fashion, the Lakers may have lost forward Larry Nance Jr. for tomorrow’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Nance suffered a knee contusion in the loss giving him a questionable status for Saturday’s game in Memphis:

Nance’s injury came late in the game after the forward bumped knees with an opposing player. The potential loss of Nance against the Grizzlies will be costly as he’ll potentially be a third key player out of the lineup along with Nick Young (calf strain) and D’Angelo Russell (knee).

Nance has been a solid role player for the Lakers this season being an important part of the team’s second unit. The Wyoming product gets it done on both ends of the floor, and his presence will be missed if he’s unable to play in Memphis.

Saturday’s game against the Grizzlies at FedExForum is the final game of the current road trip for the Lakers. Luke Walton’s squad will head back to Los Angeles after tomorrow’s matchup to prepare for the visiting Utah Jazz on Monday night at the Staples Center.
