Idaho Stampede v Los Angeles D-Fenders

With all the injuries the Los Angeles Lakers have had to deal with this season, the team has been forced to find players from the D-League to help shoulder the load. One of those players is Manny Harris formerly of the Los Angeles D-Fenders.

Even though Harris hasn’t had the same impact as Kendall Marshall, the guard out of Michigan has done enough to convince the team to sign him to another 10-day contract. According to a press release from the team, Harris has been retained with a second 10-day deal.

In five games with the Lakers since being called up from the D-Fenders, Harris is averaging 6.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

It’ll be interesting to see if Harris is able to turn things around during his second 10-day deal with the team as we have yet to see the scoring ability that turned so many heads in the D-League.

As long as Kobe Bryant, Steve Blake, Xavier Henry, Steve Nash and Jordan Farmar are on the shelf with injuries, Harris will continue to get the opportunity to prove his worth on the NBA level.
