The Los Angeles Lakers have a star in the making with rookie point guard Lonzo Ball who is putting on a show on a nightly basis during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Ball has played so well that some believe he’s got a bright future ahead and former Lakers forward Metta World Peace took it one step further on Sunday.
In classic World Peace fashion, the one-time NBA champion took to Twitter and made a bold prediction for what Ball will bring to the Lakers in two to four years time:
Lonzo ball. Champion in 2 to 4 years

Currently, Ball has the Lakers firing on all cylinders in Las Vegas. After missing one game due to a sore groin, Ball has led the team to three straight victories and has the Lakers in contention to win it all in Summer League.
Although the UCLA product has been dominant in Summer League with two triple-doubles to his credit, the NBA regular season is another beast entirely. Ball is bound to go through some growing pains come October as he will face off against elite point guards almost on a nightly basis.
If Ball can put up similar numbers and lead his team to wins on a nightly basis against the likes of Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard, and John Wall, World Peace’s prediction might not be as much of a stretch as it seems today.
Of course, if Magic Johnson’s plan to bring in two superstars next summer, namely Paul George and LeBron James, this prediction could come to fruition or at least seem more realistic. Ball would be able to elevate his game to another level playing with superstar talent, but a lot has to fall into place before that happens next summer.
