Lakers News: Mike D’Antoni Says Lakers ‘Going Big’ Against Rockets

Mike D'Antoni 4After losing a second straight road game as a result of falling to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers are sitting at 3-5 and looking as flawed as can be on the road.

With the Lakers struggling away from Staples Center, head coach Mike D’Antoni is considering mixing things up in the starting lineup once again.

Apparently, D’Antoni will be making a change in the frontcourt heading into the matchup with Dwight Howard’s Houston Rockets on Thursday according to Mike Bresnahan of L.A. Times via Twitter:

During limited minutes off the bench, Jordan Hill has made an impact with his rebounding and bringing some much needed energy on the floor. Hill has been getting the backing of Lakers fans as well as many members of the media in terms of deserving more playing time.

With Shawne Williams clearly not the answer at power forward, D’Antoni making the change in the starting lineup makes a lot of sense. The Lakers will be facing off against the frontcourt of Dwight and Omer Asik and bringing in Hill or Chris Kaman would be a wise decision.

The only question heading into the first showdown of the season against Dwight since he left for Houston will be whether D’Antoni will go with Hill or Kaman.
