Lakers News: NBA Approves Player Exception For Jordan Hill

Following the season-ending injury to forward Jordan Hill, the Los Angeles Lakers requested a disabled players exception from the NBA.

The Lakers’ request has taken some time to be approved with the league finally has finally given the team the green light according to Mark Medina of LA Daily News via Twitter:

With the player exception, the Lakers will have $1.78 million at their disposal to a sign free agent for one season or acquire a player via trade with a salary of $1.88 million.

The team is not expected to use the exception with such a high payroll and large luxury tax.

As for Hill, the recently re-signed forward is expected to miss six months while recovering from surgery on his injured hip.
