The man known as ‘Swaggy P’ has grown into a huge fan favorite throughout this season. With so many injuries to the Lakers this season, someone had to step up and become the face of this team, and that player was Nick Young.

Young will be entering free agency this off-season, and will likely demand a some good offers from other teams, assuming he opts out of his contract as expected.

The Lakers conducted their annual exit interviews today and according to Bleacher Report’s Kevin Ding, he is looking forward to being in control in of his free agency situation:

Young’s play this season got the attention of everyone around the league. He led the Lakers in scoring despite playing primarily off the bench this season and he has shown that he can get his shot off against anyone, an important skill in this league.

Now that Young has enjoyed his most productive season of his career, he can relax at least for a little while during the off-season. Though, according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters, GM Mitch Kupchak warned Young about taking too much time off:

Young has shown himself to be an excellent player and teammate this season, and he genuinely wants to remain in Los Angeles. The Lakers have a lot of decisions to make, but one of the first will almost definitely be trying to bring Young back.
