The Lakers lost another key rotation player this evening when Nick Young was forced to exit tonight’s contest after suffering an apparent knee injury before the end of the first half.

Young is only the latest Laker of many to be bitten by the injury bug, as this roster has dealt with an unfortunate health situation for the entire 2013-2014 season. Following tonight’s contest he spoke with Time Warner Cable SportsNet reporter John Ireland about how crazy this year has been:

“This has been crazy all year, and especially tonight sums up how everything’s been,” Young said. “We really had four players out there.”

Young was happy to see his teammates pull out a gritty win despite the lack of players, but he was unable to give an update on whether or not he’ll be able to play on Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers.

“I can’t tell you right now,” Young said. “We’ll see what happens.”

According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Young will receive an MRI tomorrow in Philadelphia, and from there the Lakers will have an indication on what his status will be moving forward.

Since arriving in Los Angeles, Young has earned the praise of his teammates, coaching staff, and fans. Despite the disappointing record, Young has been a solid addition for the Lakers this season. In 48 games, Young is averaging 16.9 points off the bench and his defense has improved.
