Gasol will be entering the final season of his Lakers contract, and CBS Sports writes that the Spaniard is open to the possibility to returning to European basketball.

“I don’t know when, but if one day I could return to FIBA basketball, I’d like to do it with Barcelona as long as I can play at a high level and being central to the team.”

Before entering the 2001 NBA Draft, Gasol was a superstar for FC Barcelona and made a name for himself with his stellar play. Gasol is still recovering from his injuries, but it will surely be a storybook ending for a fantastic basketball career if the seven footer ends up back in Barcelona.

According to Sports City, Gasol is expected to make $19,285,850 in 2013-14 before becoming an unrestricted free agent.
