With three games remaining in the season, Gasol said it was unlikely that he would be able to return. Before the final home game of the season against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, the team officially ruled Gasol out according to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell:

While Gasol is still a couple weeks away from playing again, he will travel with the team for their final road trip:

With Gasol becoming an unrestricted free agent this upcoming off-season, it’s very possible that he may have played his final game as a Laker. Although he recently mentioned that there’s a chance he will return, he will have to evaluate his options and pick the team that gives him the best opportunity to win more championships.

Although it has been a disappointing season, Gasol has played well when healthy especially to start the new year. In 60 games, the two-time champion averaged 17.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks this season.
