Lakers News, Rumors, and Recap: Lakers Play Game 5 Tonight

The Lakers play what could be their final game of Round 1 of the playoffs tonight. Leading this series with the Nuggets 3-1, tonight’s game would give the Lakers a great first run, and some rest before Round 2 against the Thunder. World Peace would sit out the first game of Round 2 assuming the Lakers win tonight.

What I like most about this series so far, is it hasn’t been all about Kobe. No one can deny the force that is Bryant, but Mike Brown has been guiding his team to look at other avenues to win. Proof of this is in the scoring; six Lakers players scored in the double digits in game four. Bynum has been getting much praise the past few games and Gasol continues to show he can be counted on. Blake and Barnes cinched the game win Sunday night, while Ebanks and Hill have gotten the attention of Mike Brown, resulting in more play time. What tonight’s game comes down to at home is whether or not the Lakers can maintain control of the game. The tempo here is important; Denver likes to work fast.
