Lakers News, Rumors, and Recap: Nuggets, Lakers Game 6, Will Kobe Play?

Mike Trudell of Lakers.com announced today via Twitter that Kobe Bryant missed the team shootaround Thursday morning due to a case of gastroenteritis. We all know Kobe is infamous for playing through injuries and sickness, but this is troubling news right before Game 6 tonight.

The Nuggets could tie up the series easily if Kobe is unable to play. As of now, his status is uncertain. Kobe is crucial; he scored 43 points Tuesday night and nearly bailed the Lakers out of a loss at the end of the game.

As much as I like to see my Lakers play, I don’t want a Game 7. They need to especially watch out for Andre Miller and JaVale McGee tonight, as the two of them put up a combined 45 points last game. McGee found it much to easy to drive up the middle and put up some baskets. The Lakers also had an issue with turnovers last Tuesday, aided by throwing too many lob passes.

Tonight’s game is played in Denver, the last without World Peace. Winning tonight’s game would send the team to Oklahoma on Saturday to take on the 2nd seeded Thunder.
