The bad news continues to roll in for the Los Angeles Lakers, with two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash possibly missing up to four weeks with his leg fracture. According to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times via Twitter:

As if starting the season with three straight losses wasn’t bad enough for the new-look Lakers, Nash’s injury only sets the team back that much further in building team cohesion. The Lakers will find it increasingly difficult to win games over the next month without Nash leading the offense.

In the meantime, the Lakers’ coaching staff will turn to Steve Blake to fill the void. Chris Duhon and Darius Morris will likely see more playing time and will get multiple opportunities to gain Mike Brown’s and his coaching staff’s trust.

Needless to say, things may have gotten that much more difficult for this championship-caliber team. It will be interesting to see how this revamped roster responds after losing a major piece of the championship puzzle.
