The quest to land Dwight Howard has officially begun. After, well, years of speculation, it’s finally time for Howard to choose where he will play (at least) the next four years of his career. After Mitch Kupchak was able to sneak in a quick meeting with Howard late Sunday night in Los Angeles, the big man met with the Houston Rockets for several hours to hear their pitch.

On Monday, Steve Nash sent out a tweet to Howard in hopes to begin to lure him back to the Lakers.

Obviously the recruitment process in the NBA these days is a bit more extensive than in years past. Now it seems every high-priced free agent wants to be wooed, wined and dined. Dwight Howard is no different.

Regardless, while Howard is meeting with several teams over the next few days, the Lakers are hoping they’ll be the ones to convince him to sign on the dotted line.
