Last week, it was reported that Steve Nash was done for the season. Head coach Mike D’Antoni let it be known that Nash wouldn’t play the rest of the way, but now it appears that the veteran point guard might get back on the floor.

According to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com, Nash is staying in game shape and might return this season:

The nerve issues have completely derailed Nash’s efforts to return this season and prove his worth. The 40-year-old hasn’t given up on the prospect of contributing to this team, but simply hasn’t been able to stay healthy.

With Jordan Farmar going down with a groin injury in practice on Monday, the window of opportunity has opened for Nash. Although many believe he’s done for the season and could be released by the Lakers in this summer, the two-time NBA MVP has been reluctant to admit defeat.

Recently, Nash admitted that one of the main motivations to prolong his career is to get paid in Bill Simmons’ Grantland series, The Finish Line. The series has followed Nash during this trying time as he deals with his body breaking down and his NBA career coming to an end.

Obviously, Nash wants to get back on the floor badly, but it remains to be seen if that will be this season, next season or ever again.
