According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Los Angeles Lakers will meet with Anthony next week:

Anthony, who maintains an offseason home in Los Angeles, is also expected to meet with the Los Angeles Lakers face-to-face next week.

The Lakers will be one of four teams to meet with Anthony as has plans to meet with the Chicago Bulls this Tuesday, and both the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.

Los Angeles is facing some stiff competition as both the Bulls and Rockets boast multiple All-Stars on their roster while the Mavericks have Anthony’s former teammates in New York, Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton. Then of course, there are the New York Knicks who have already met with Anthony and have a new foundation in president Phil Jackson and head coach Derek Fisher.

The Lakers are trying to rebuild the team as quickly as possible and Anthony would go a long way towards getting the Lakers back into title contention. But if they do fail to get Anthony, the Lakers have a backup plan and could target a number of different players such as Kyle Lowry, Greg Monroe, and Chandler Parsons.
