The Los Angeles Lakers recalled Travis Wear from their South Bay affiliate of the G League, and he is expected to be in uniform for Sunday’s game against the Sacramento Kings. Wear joined the South Bay Lakers over the weekend for their playoff game.

He scored 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting, to go along with three rebounds, three assists and two steals to help the team to a 125-105 victory over the Oklahoma City Blue. With the win, South Bay advanced to the NBA G League Western Conference Semifinals.

They next play the Reno Bighorns in a road game on Tuesday. It’s unclear if Wear will re-join the affiliate, as the Lakers play in Utah that evening for the start of a back-to-back.

The UCLA product averaged 16.7 points per game and 8.3 rebounds while shooting 42 percent from deep in 33 regular-season games for South Bay.

Wear initially joined the Lakers this season on March 2 by signing a 10-day contract. He earned a second 10-day deal, then was signed for the remainder of the season.

Wear has averaged 5.2 points and 2.3 rebounds through 13 games with the Lakers. He figures to see playing time against the Kings, as the team will be without Brandon Ingram who was placed into the NBA’s concussion protocol.
