Lakers Opening Day Schedule Becomes Clearer

The Los Angeles Lakers will likely host the Chicago Bulls on the NBA’s Christmas season opener. In addition, the Boston Celtics will likely travel to New York and the Miami Heat are expected to play the Mavericks in Dallas. These games were planned on the original NBA schedule, but it seems as though more match-ups will be added to the 2011-12 season opener.

CBS Sports Royce Young writes that Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers will be going up to Oakland to play the Warriors on Christmas at the 10:30 P.M. EST slot.

The Christmas days games are set to tip-off at noon, 2:30, 5:00, 8:00 and 10:30 (all times eastern). The Lakers will either play at 5:00 or 8:00, which leaves one game unannounced. There have been rumors that the mystery game will be the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies, but nothing has been officially reported.
