Steve Blake is out with injury, but with the way he stepped up in both Kobe and Steve Nash’s absence, he’s deserved to be front and center in our Lakers Play Of The Week.

In Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs against the San Antonio Spurs, Blake came up with back to back defensive plays, that had Lakers fans believing this team still had it in their hearts to win. Tony Parker attempts a fancy spin move on the fast break, and Blake rips it out of his hands and lobs it to his teammates while he’s falling out of bounds. Then, less than 30 seconds later, Tim Duncan sets a screen to set up Parker, but Blake fights to get through it. Parker thinks he’s got the open jumper, and Blake sneaks up from behind with the block.

There’s a reason Kobe Bryant loves this guy. Check out our Lakers Play Of The Week, and don’t forget to click here to subscribe to our YouTube Channel and qualify for our New Era Cap giveaway.
