Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who returned to practice on Saturday for the first time since April, did not practice on Thursday due to normal “soreness,” according to Lakers PR. After full days of practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, neither Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni or Lakers center Pau Gasol were concerned. Chris Kaman also sat out of Lakers practice Thursday, citing back soreness, and is day-to-day.
Lakers point guard Steve Nash will be out a minimum of five more games as he’s traveling to Vancouver with his personal trainer to continue rehabilitation on his back. D’Antoni did not seem too optimistic about his progress and estimated Nash would need about 10 more days to see where he is. Gasol also discusses his pledge to donate $1,000 per point that he scores in Friday’s game to help aid victims of the devastating typhoon in the Philippines.
