Lakers Practice VIDEOS: Kobe To Exceed Expectations With Blake Out

The Los Angeles Lakers received unfortunate news this morning that point guard Steve Blake is expected to miss six weeks with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. The injury actually occurred in the second half of the Lakers game in Washington on Nov. 26, and Blake had been playing through the pain for the past six games. Blake even switched to shooting with his left hand in practice, which he had translated to game action.

With Steve Nash and Jordan Farmar out, the Lakers relied on Blake to facilitate the offense. Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni will now look to Kobe Bryant, who has only played in two games since April, to facilitate the offense. Jodie Meeks will also need to step up in the starting spot in the Lakers back court for their upcoming roadtrip.
