Lakers Rumors: Isaiah Thomas A ‘Real Possibility’ For Los Angeles

On Saturday, the Los Angeles Lakers emerged as a serious contender for Carmelo Anthony with LeBron James “giving similar consideration” to what the franchise has to offer. Depending on what both stars ultimately do in free agency, Isaiah Thomas is a “real possibility” for the Lakers according to Bleacher Report’s Jared Zwerling:

Despite playing for the Sacramento Kings in his first three seasons in the league, Thomas has always been a Kobe Bryant and Lakers fan. Recently, the point guard out of Washington shared that he hopes to get a contract offer from the Lakers in free agency.

With the Kings set to sign Darren Collison to a three-year, $16 million deal, Sacramento has decided to move in a different direction despite a strong season from the former 60th pick in 2011. In 72 games, Thomas averaged 20.3 points and 6.3 assists.

With Thomas being one of the best point guards in the free agency market, he has already received a lot of interest from numerous teams. While the Lakers drafted Jordan Clarkson and currently have Steve Nash on contract, Thomas would be an upgrade at the point guard position.
