Over the past few months, Love has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers with the perennial All-Star rumored to want to return to Los Angeles. Love is stuck in a losing situation in Minnesota and wants a change of scenery with the veteran already having a taste of the City of Angels during his time at UCLA.

Although it may be a stretch for the Lakers to acquire Love in a trade with no real assets to send to the T’Wolves, Sam Smith of Bulls.com has reason to believe Love wants to be a Laker:

As I’ve written, I think it’s a long shot and have never heard Love say he has interest in coming to Chicago. People I know around the Lakers still believe he wants to return there.

The two teams currently linked to Love that could be in title contention with the addition of the star forward are the Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls. Depending what the Warriors and Bulls would have to give up, Golden State and Chicago would be forces to be reckoned with if able to land Love, but the concern may be losing him in the summer of 2015.

With the Lakers potentially having the leverage due to Love’s interest in returning to Los Angeles, the star forward could either push his way to the Lakers in some kind of three-way deal or simply waited it out until he becomes an unrestricted free agent after next season.
