Over the course of the last few days, the Los Angeles Lakers have been involved in many different trade rumors with speculation running rampant in the City of Angels. Even though the Lakers continue to explore blockbuster deals to bring in Steve Nash and or Dwight Howard, the team is also considering other options to improve the roster.

One of those options may be veteran forward Antawn Jamison according to Sam Amico of FoxSportsOhio via Twitter:

“Lakers also expected to meet with Antawn Jamison, probably early next week. Before you ask, he could put off Bobcats for year or two.”

It appears that Jamison is determined to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers in an effort to potentially cash in on a short-term deal one more time and or finally be able to compete for an NBA title.

Despite Jamison being 36 years-old, the former North Carolina standout is still very efficient when given the minutes to contribute. Last season, Jamison averaged 17.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in 33 minutes on the floor as the second-best player on the team behind Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving.

The consensus has been that Jamison wanted to sign with the Charlotte Bobcats in an effort to return home before calling it a career. Apparently, the veteran forward is keeping his options open and is seriously considering signing with a contender.

If the Lakers ultimately trade Pau Gasol, Jamison would be a nice fit in Los Angeles for the short-term. As long as he can stay healthy, which he did last season playing in 65 games, the 14-year veteran might be a steal for the Lakers in free agency.
