Lakers Rumors & News Recap: Fisher Could Win 6, Kobe Making Roster Changes

Derek Fisher may beat Kobe in championships very soon if he earns number six. Kobe and Fisher has won all five championship rings together, making this impeding potential victory bittersweet. But Fisher doesn’t get any enjoyment from this potential victory. Fisher stated:

“I don’t necessarily gain pleasure from seeing people that I’m close to not reach certain goals they have for themselves and their team. To me it’s kind of sacred ground. I’m not going there. Some people will, but not me.”

Winning a sixth ring would put him in the category of Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Fisher, who becomes a free-agent on July 1st, is unable to return to the Lakers until next March, if they so desired him. However, he could be seeing a one or two-year deal with the Thunder in his future.

Even if the Lakers wanted Fisher back, they would have to go through Kobe Bryant. The Lakers star met with Mitch Kupchak this week to discuss the state of the team and what would have to happen to get back to championship caliber.  Mike Brown sat in on one of the sessions, but the Buss’ were void. The Lakers are clear that their star player’s input is important.

Make sure you sport your Lakers pride this off-season with some awesome merchandise.
