Despite being 0-6, the Lakers are still the favorites to win the Western Conference according to the NBA GM survey. The survey was recently conducted with all 30 general managers in the NBA to talk about the outcome of the upcoming season. Included were topics about who were the best players in the league at every position, the rookies and the ultimate outcome at season’s end. 60 percent surveyed claimed the Lakers would be the #1 team in the west, with OKC in second place.

According to the poll, Kobe and Dwight both got recognition. With 66.7 percent of votes, Kobe Bryant was the best shooting guard in the NBA while Dwyane Wade came in second place. Howard was dubbed the league’s best center, cinching almost all of the votes. He scored 93.3 percent of voters, while Bynum was second place.

Fans in L.A. were excited to get a taste of Dwight Howard last night, and in the spirit of the momentous occasion, LN has clipped together Bryant’s first lob pass to Dwight in this video. Check out the moment many of you had been waiting for.

If you haven’t heard, the Lakers have cut two more players from their roster, Greg Somogyi and Chris Douglas- Roberts. This news comes after the cutting of Reeves Nelson and Ronnie Aguilar this past weekend. The roster remains at 16.

Lakers Nation brings you yet another fabulous computer desktop wallpaper. With the start of Howard last night, let’s celebrate this center’s return to the court with a Lakers center celebration desktop image featuring Howard himself and former Laker greats.
