With the Los Angeles Lakers no longer interested in Lamar Odom, the team is reportedly interested in free agent Pete Mickeal according to HoopsHype. Mickeal has spent the last six years in the Euroleague with FC Barcelona. In 2011, the Lakers played Mickeal and FC Barcelona in a preseason game where he and Kobe Bryant got into a heated exchange.
Another name that the Lakers may be interested in is Michael Beasley. The Phoenix Suns released the former second overall draft pick in 2008 today. During the 2011-12 season, the Lakers made efforts to trade Beasley while he was a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, but eventually traded Derek Fisher for Jordan Hill instead.
The Lakers may be looking to add another scorer in the front court and Beasley would fit Mike D’Antoni’s offense. While Beasley has struggled in his career, playing next to Kobe Bryant could provide that level of concentration he needs to finally fulfill his talents.
