Lakers Rumors & News Recap: Laker Makeover Almost Complete

Pre-season game three is tomorrow, and hopefully the Lakers can clinch a win. Dwight won’t be playing, but Kobe should. Although Robert Sacre has been doing a great job at the center spot, so I am not too worried.

Jabari Davis of Lakers Nation put together a great piece today on his impressions over the past two games. He speaks on the “locked and loaded” roster and whether these players are enough to win a championship this year. Mike Brown gets a few nods, and so does the Lakers bench. I don’t want to spoil this article; Jabari writes a well put together dissertation. But I promise you it is worth the read, and will hopefully put some of your minds to rest on concerns you may have.

There may be a trade coming the way of L.A. The Lakers are attempting to create an open spot in the back-court by moving Chris Duhon or Steve Blake, who has since recovered from his parking lot injury. Even though both players are set to back up Steve Nash, they only offer a select talent, it could benefit to trade them for someone with more bench power. One of the most interesting rumors has been whether or not this trade could bring back Fisher to the Lakers roster.

This Saturday should be Dwight-less again, despite him looking great in practice. Taking the overly cautious, patient route, Howard is not 100 percent and has declined to participate in the game against the Jazz. However, he may show up on the court before the opening night against the Mavericks. Stay tuned.

Remember yesterday’s comments by Kobe? Well Smush Parker had something to say about it. Although Parker commends the player Bryant has been, he shared how he felt about Bryant’s attitude and personality:

“The reason I wasn’t a Laker after my second year is because I didn’t bow down to [Kobe]. I didn’t kiss his a–. I wasn’t kissing his feet. Quite frankly, towards the end of the second season, I stopped passing him the ball. I stopped giving him the ball. I started looking him off.”

First Shaq running his mouth, and now these two. Can’t we all just get along?
