Lakers Rumors & News Recap: Lamar Odom Continues To Struggle

Odom InterviewIn the aftermath of the vetoed Chris Paul trade, former Sixth Man of the Year, Lamar Odom, wasn’t happy with his situation with the Los Angeles Lakers. Odom was so distraught about the whole ordeal that he forced the hand of Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak resulting in the team trading him to the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks.

After one incredibly miserable season in Dallas, Odom wasn’t retained and ultimately landed back with the team that drafted him in the Los Angeles Clippers.

Despite getting back into game shape and playing much better than he did in Dallas, Odom didn’t exactly return to form as one of the best bench players in the league. Although Odom still wasn’t the player of old, the veteran forward showed signs of promise in terms of being able to sign another deal with the Clippers or another team this summer, but he remains unsigned with the 2013-14 NBA season rapidly approaching.

Apparently, Odom has been seriously struggling with his strained relationship with his wife, Khloe Kardashian. After getting kicked out of his house by Khloe recently, possibly due to allegedly cheating on the reality star, Odom has reportedly gone missing with no word from the him in over three days.

Reportedly, Odom has abusing hardcore drugs while being unreachable, and has his fans and family worried about the direction this may be headed.

Although Odom had a somewhat ugly divorce with the Lakers organization, the two-time NBA champion was seriously considering rejoining the team for a second stint. Odom also received considerable interest from the Clippers with a one-year deal supposedly on the table, but now there’s no telling where Odom will end up or if his career may be over altogether.

Obviously, things are not headed in the direction for Odom as his immediate future on and off the court appears to be in dire straits.
