Pau GasolFollowing FAST knee procedures, two-time NBA champion Pau Gasol will not be participating in any basketball activities for the next three months. Gasol was given a 12-week timetable for his recovery following the knee procedures on Thursday and won’t be touching a basketball anytime soon as a result.

Along with Gasol trying to get as healthy as possible for next season with the extended time offer due to the first-round exit, Kobe Bryant is also dealing with an extensive recovery process from surgery on his ruptured Achille tendon. Kobe recently had the stitches in his Achilles removed while on the path to recover from an injury that may keep him off the floor for as much as nine months to a year.

The summer will be considered the off-season to recovery for the Lakers as Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, Metta World Peace, Gasol and Kobe all try and repair their bodies in order to prepare for next season.

As for potential moves being made in the coming months, the team’s primary focus at this point in time seems to be re-signing Howard and keeping the team relatively intact for another go around with a much healthier squad.
