Lakers Rumors & News Recap: Ray Allen is in…and so is Kobe?

Is he in? Is he out? A few weeks ago, Lakers Nation talked about the possibility of Ray Allen becoming a Laker next season. Ryan Ward, LN writer, wrote about the Allen’s free agency and the impact the Celtics’ player could have on the court. Now, according to Ian Thomsen of Sports Illustrated, Ray Allen could actually be suiting up in Purple and Gold.

After their loss to the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, it appears as though the ‘Big Three’ will be dissolving. Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce have made the Celtics a powerhouse since 2007. But with Allen getting older and suffering multiple injuries this season, Boston is most likely not going to pick him up. Allen could be a huge asset for the Lakers’ outside shooting. But this acquisition will only be beneficial if Allen remains healthy. At 37, it is more than likely he may suffer more injuries.

Kobe Bryant is also in the news today, for personal reasons. The Lakers guard is….in love again, with his estranged wife Vanessa! Kobe has been working on saving his marriage after the two filed for divorce over irreconcilable differences. Vanessa has till this weekend to make the divorce final, but reportedly she most likely will not. I can see another $4 million diamond ring in her future…
