Lakers Rumors & News Recap: The Clippers Aren’t Only Fearing the Lakers

Blake GriffinThe Lakers are not the only ones in L.A. with some surprising talent this coming season. With the additions of Jamal Crawford, Lamar Odom, Grant Hill, Matt Barnes and the re-signing of Chauncey Billups, the Clippers will be strong next season with one of the deepest benches in the league.

Blake Griffin spoke today about how he feels towards the brewing Lakers rivalry. Bringing up a good point, Griffin mentioned the forces that remain in OKC and the Spurs, and talks about the overall strength of the Western Conference. Concerned not only about the Lakers, the Clippers are gearing up for a tough season against multiple Western opponents. Regardless, the Battle in L.A. over which basketball team comes out on top is always something fans will be thinking about. The Clippers, much like the Lakers, have an older team on and off the bench who bring valuable experience and playing ability. Both the Clippers and Lakers made excellent player moves this summer. But with Dwight probably out the first few games, Lakers fans will get to see how well the bench does right away.

Metta World Peace is full of optimism for the coming season. So much so that he believes the Lakers can break the Bulls’ season record, with a 2012-2013 game record of 73-9. Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls went 72-10 in the 1995-96 season. Some say that was the greatest team to ever be assembled. Who knows if the Lakers will be able to pull that off, but one thing is for sure, I am digging Metta’s attitude. Keep thinking like a winner World Peace!

Tickets! Tickets! This Saturday, September 22, fans can buy Lakers individual tickets! Tickets will be available to purchase at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.com, not the Staples Center box office. There are roughly 1,000 tickets available for each Lakers game and fans will be limited to a maximum purchase of four tickets. If you can’t get as many as you like, or don’t get the seats you want, make sure to also take a visit to the Lakers Nation Forum as fans will be selling tickets throughout the 2012-13 season.
