Lakers Trade Lou Williams To The Houston Rockets, Get First Round Pick
The list of interested teams continues to grow for the Los Angeles Lakers regarding the availability of sixth man Lou Williams with the NBA trade deadline approaching.

According to Mike Scotto of Basketball Insiders, the New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets are among the many teams interested in Williams’ services:

Williams, who is currently the most consistent player on the Lakers roster, is becoming a hot commodity with less than 48 hours left for teams to make trades in the NBA. The 30-year-old guard is averaging a team-best 18.6 points per game and continues to be a lethal scorer off the bench for the Lakers while set to be paid the bargain price of $7 million next season.

With Williams’ contract being more than reasonable and the journeyman still among the league’s elite coming off the bench, the Lakers are more than likely fielding a lot of offers for him. Along with the Pelicans and Rockets, Williams has been linked to the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Washington Wizards.

Before the news of New Orleans and Houston showing interest surfaced on Tuesday, the Charlotte Hornets were rumored to be aggressively pursuing the veteran guard. It may come down to a bidding war for Williams with the Lakers brass eventually going with the best offer on the table before the buzzer sounds on the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 23.
