Lakers Rumors: Rasheed Wallace a Potential Fit in Los Angeles?

The Lakers have been surrounded by trade rumors all season, and with center Andrew Bynum recently stating that the team may make a move if they struggle on their upcoming road trip, it seems the current roster may look very different very soon.

Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports is now reporting that the team may be interested in several players, the most notable of which is Rasheed Wallace.

“If the Lakers don’t sign [Kenyon] Martin, they could have interest in adding Rasheed Wallace, who contacted the team several weeks ago, a league source said. Wallace retired after the 2009-10 season, but has told friends he’s interested in returning to the NBA.”

Wallace, who most recently played for the Boston Celtics in the 2009-10 season, sat out last season. In fact, he hasn’t played since Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Lakers.

Obviously after being out of the league for as long as he has it may be difficult for Wallace to get back into playing shape. Still, he could provide some outside shooting and maybe even some help on the boards depending on his health.
