Denver Nuggets v Los Angeles Lakers - Game SevenThe Los Angeles Lakers officially parted ways with small forward Metta World Peace earlier this week, putting the veteran’s immediate future into serious question. The team stands to save $14.3 million as a result of the move while World Peace weighs his options as an unrestricted free agent after clearing waivers on Sunday.

Reportedly, World Peace is only seriously considering signing with the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks. World Peace is a New York native and has always had an interest in playing for the Knicks, but has fallen in love with playing and living in Los Angeles.

Apparently, both teams have expressed interest in signing World Peace, but no decision has been made yet by the one-time NBA champion.

With World Peace on his way out, the Lakers’ front office has already started adding new players. The Lakers have signed Chris Kaman, Nick Young, Jordan Farmar and Wesley Johnson while also considering signing former Sixth Man of the Year Lamar Odom.

A decision from World Peace will likely be made soon while the Lakers continue to consider free agent options.
