Lakers Rumors & Recaps: Lakers Looking To Make More Moves?

The rumors are starting swirl around the City of Angels once again with talk of the Los Angeles Lakers showing interest in free agent Mickael Pietrus.

The veteran guard isn’t the only player the Lakers’ front office is reportedly interested in with talk of Raja Bell also on the team’s radar. Bell is still under contract with the Utah Jazz, but will have the difference of the $3.5 million left on his deal bought out by Utah if he can sign for the veteran’s minimum elsewhere.

Along with these veterans reportedly receiving interest from the Lakers, Chris Duhon and Steve Blake appear to still be on the trading block. The Lakers’ front office continues to gauge interest in these two players via trade, but have yet to receive any takers for Duhon or Blake.

With Mike D’Antoni at the helm, GM Mitch Kupchak and company are looking to make a few more changes to the roster to accommodate the new style of offense. The team has shown signs of promise under D’Antoni at times in wins over the Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets, but have also looked awful in losses to the Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies.

Although there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel for the new-look Lakers, there’s still a lot of work to be done in order to get this team to reach the potential intended. The return of Steve Nash may very well be the missing piece to the championship puzzle in Los Angeles, but it’s clear that the front office isn’t satisfied with the roster and may continue to make moves in an attempt to become a legitimate title contender this season.
