Lakers Rumors & Recaps: No Timetable for Steve Nash’s Return

The Los Angeles Lakers are red-hot headed into their matchup with the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night winning five of the last six games and seemingly coming together as a dominant basketball team with the new-look roster.

Although the Lakers have seemingly turned things around with Mike D’Antoni’s high-powered offensive system, Los Angeles is still without one of the biggest acquisitions of the off-season in two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash.

Unfortunately, no timetable has been set for the eight-time All-Star. Nash’s return from the leg injury, suffered in the second game of the regular season, continues to get pushed back with the latest report not giving a clear indication of when he’ll get back on the floor for the Lakers.

Without Nash running the point for D’Antoni, the Lakers may have still yet to see the true potential of this team led by Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard.

With the Lakers playing as well as they have with D’Antoni’s offensive implemented, it’s a scary thought for opponents in terms of how good this team could be with Nash back in the fold. Not only has this team had to play without Nash, but Steve Blake has also been sidelined due to a strained abdomen.

Second-year point guard Darius Morris and veteran Chris Duhon have filled the void in the backcourt for the time being. Morris has begun to make an impression while Duhon has also played well off the bench.
