Lakers Rumors & Recaps: Ryan Anderson On Lakers’ Radar?

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off one of the most impressive victories of the season by thrashing the Denver Nuggets with a season-high 119-point performance.

In the rout of the Nuggets, Jodie Meeks and Antawn Jamison had breakout performances while giving hope that the Lakers bench may be  starting to come around.

Although the Lakers appear to be on the upswing with Dwight Howard hitting his stride after posting his first 20-20 game as a Lakers (28 points, 20 rebounds), the front office in Los Angeles may still be considering a future without Pau Gasol as their starting power forward. Gasol continues to get mentioned in trade rumors with the Spaniard not exactly fitting in Mike D’Antoni’s offensive system.

If Gasol struggles to find his place in the new-look offense while everyone seems to fit the mold, the Lakers may very well consider making a deal before the trade deadline for a better fit. Without Steve Nash running the show, it remains to be seen if Gasol can truly flourish in the new offense, but if he doesn’t with Nash back in the fold, his time in Los Angeles may be coming to an end.

The most recent player linked in a potential deal involving Gasol is Howard’s former teammate in Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Hornets. Anderson would give the Lakers the stretch four with an ability to be a force on the glass as well as from outside that may thrive in D’Antoni’s system.

Gasol’s fate remains to be tied to Nash’s return which may happen within the next week or two.
