The Lakers are working on finalizing their roster for the upcoming season. Currently there are a group of players on the end of the team’s bench, many of whom won’t actually make the team this season. One player who has had a positive impact on the team and has taken advantage of the opportunity given to him is rookie center Robert Sacre.

According to Mark Medina of the L.A. Times, Sacre is leaving quite the impression on some of his teammates, mainly Kobe Bryant.

“I’m very impressed,” Kobe Bryant said Friday of Sacre. “I really didn’t know too much about him coming out of Gonzaga. I know Gonzaga puts out some solid big men but I really didn’t know too much about him.”

Will the 7-footer make the Lakers?

“Oh yeah, I think so. Absolutely,” Bryant said.

Sacre has had the chance to start the first two pre-season games in Dwight Howard’s absence, and has taken advantage of the opportunity. He’s averaging 7.0 points and 2.5 rebounds through these first two games.

Recently, Lakers Nation’s own Arielle Moyal sat down with Sacre and talked about life with the Lakers and what he’s looking to accomplish in training camp and the pre-season.
