Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Lakers received a $1.5-million disabled player exception for injured rookie power forward Julius Randle. While the Lakers would have to waive a current player in order to use the disabled played exception, the team has already been rumored to work out Quincy Miller sometime this week.

After a strong college career at Louisiana State University, Thomas was the 4th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft where he was traded to the Chicago Bulls for LaMarcus Aldridge. However, Thomas has not lived up to expectations and did not play in the NBA last season.
With the 1-7 start, the Lakers are looking at their options with the disabled player exception available. While Ryan Kelly and Nick Young are nearing their returns, they also lost Steve Nash for the entire season and looking to improve their depth.
