After suffering a mild sprain on his left ankle during Sunday night’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Jodie Meeks did not practice Monday or Tuesday and instead received treatment. He did, however, participate in today’s shootaround and according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin is expected to play tonight in Game 2.

Meeks played almost 20 minutes in Game 1, scoring four points, but his real contribution didn’t show in the stat sheet. Meeks brought another level of energy to the game that the Lakers will need to feed off of if they have any chance of winning this series.

Speaking of energy, the Lakers could really use Jordan Hill, who has been sidelined since January. According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Hill has been cleared by the Lakers, and it is possible he may contribute in tonight’s game.

The fact that Hill has been cleared to play does not guarantee that we’ll see him on the floor. Whether or not Hill plays will be up to the discretion of head coach Mike D’Antoni. Hill had surgery on his left hip during the last week of January to repair a torn labrum, remove loose fragments, and repair damaged cartilage. The Lakers expected him to be out for the season.

During the 29 games he played with the Lakers, Hill averaged 6.7 points and 5.7 rebounds. If he doesn’t play tonight, expect him to be on the floor soon. The Lakers tip-off tonight at 6:30PM, PST.
