Yesterday, news broke that the Lakers would be wearing sleeved jerseys multiple times next season. The news wasn’t well received as there haven’t been too many people who are excited about watching NBA players with sleeves (although, there is at least one willing to give the sleeved jerseys a chance).
Today, the Lakers released a video via their Instagram account suggesting that the team will also be featuring a new black alternate jersey this season.
While the video leaves a lot to the imagination, we do get an idea of what these jerseys will potentially look like. The black jersey will have purple numbers with with gold trim. The all-black look is sleek, and a much better idea than the sleeved jerseys being introduced by Adidas.
The Lakers are calling the new black jerseys “Hollywood Nights” and will be the first new alternate uniform that the Lakers introduce themselves since the “Sunday Whites” in 2002.
