The Los Angeles Lakers formally announced the signing of Andre Ingram for the remainder of the 2017-18 season. Ingram is expected to be in uniform and available when the Lakers wrap up their campaign with a back-to-back that begins Tuesday against the Houston Rockets.

He averaged 9.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 47 games (seven starts) for South Bay this season. Ingram, who is the all-time G League leader in 3-pointers made (713), shot 47.5 percent from deep.

Now in his 11th season, Ingram owns career G League averages of 10.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 384 games. Prior to Monday, he’d yet to join an NBA roster. Ingram has been with the Lakers organization (D-Fenders/South Bay) since 2012.

He joins South Bay mainstays Vander Blue, Thomas Bryant, Alex Caruso, Gary Payton II and Travis Wear as those who also received time with the parent team.

Including two-way players, the Lakers roster now stands at 17. The signing of Ingram provides the team with much-needed depth. Injuries have forced head coach Luke Walton to play those who are healthy, heavy minutes.

Isaiah Thomas is out after undergoing hip surgery, and none of Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma appear likely to play in either of the remaining two games.
