The Lakers have been making a couple of last minute additions ahead of training camp which begins next week.

First the team added veteran shooting guard Wayne Ellington, which was followed by four other players being invited to training camp. Now the Lakers announced that they have jut signed veteran point guard Ronnie Price:

Price, much like Ellington, gives the Lakers a bit of security in the backcourt. Steve Nash has reportedly looked excellent in workouts and scrimmages this summer, but relying on him is a questionable strategy.

Jordan Clarkson, despite looking impressive in Summer League, is still a rookie second-round pick and may turn out to be more of a shooting guard than a point guard. Jeremy Lin is the Lakers only reliable point guard option coming into the season, making the Price signing a necessity.

Price is a nine-year NBA veteran who has played with five different teams. He had his most success in Utah where he started 24 games over four seasons with the Jazz. Last year Price played in 31 games, starting two, for the Orlando Magic.
