“Lakers” is tattooed in purple and gold graffiti-style lettering on Alex Sanchez’s arm. Coupled with the Larry O’Brien trophy, this makes up his one and only tattoo. It’s bold and hard to cover with clothing. “I’m always wearing my Lakers gear,” he says.

Darlene has the classic Lakers logo tattooed above her right ankle. Living in Seattle, this tattoo was and continues to be about proving herself as a true fan in a city mostly filled with people who either don’t care about the Lakers or care enough to dislike them.

Miguel Lopez Jr.’s tattoo is surely one of the largest Lakers tattoos in existence. It covers his entire chest and gives the illusion of the team name resting in his bloodstream and then tearing out of his skin. The intensity of the tattoo may seem to belie Lopez’s reason for loving the team so. “The Lakers bring the family together,” he says, taking pride in how his wife and children gather together regularly to watch games and spend time together.
