Lakers vs. Clippers VIDEOS: Xavier Henry – The Lakers Are For Real

The Los Angeles Lakers opened the regular season with a 116-103 win over the Clippers, that can be described in a pretty simple phrase: fun to watch. The energy in Staples Center tonight was something the Lakers went without for the entire 2012-2013 season, and despite overwhelming doubt, the Lakers out-played the Clippers. With the win, the Lakers continue to have the best record on opening night (42-24, .636) out of all 30 NBA teams. Those 42 wins are also the most of any NBA team on opening night. Xavier Henry fired up the crowd, scoring a career-high 22 points off the bench. Jordan Farmar and Jodie Meeks combined for 29 points, and the Lakers bench led the purple and gold to victory. Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni says this year’s team is actually rooting for one another, as opposed to a team last year that felt cold.
