As the Los Angeles Lakers inch closer to the start of training camp, the team continues to consider signing free agent forward Michael Beasley with a need at small forward.

According to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, the Lakers brought Beasley in for a second workout on Wednesday:

A few weeks ago, Beasley worked out with the team and the Lakers brass liked what they saw in the 25-year-old. Beasley hasn’t received much interest on the free agent market outside of the Lakers bringing him in for a pair of workouts.

Beasley’s numbers have plummeted over the last few years with the veteran forward struggling to find a new home after a breakout season with the Minnesota Timberwolves back in 2010. Beasley averaged 19.2 points per game back in the 2010-11 season, but saw a severe drop off the following year to 11.5 and ultimately landed in Phoenix in 2012.

Last season, Beasley returned to the team that drafted him back in 2008. Unfortunately, Beasley was unable to resurrect his career where it all began despite putting up decent numbers in 15.1 minutes per game.

Beasley shot 49.9 percent from the floor and 38.9 from beyond the arc in 55 games for the Miami Heat last year.
